| Landestheater Salzburg 'With Anda-Louise Bogza Tosca's part was perfectly casted . Her impressive dramatic voice, effortlessly reached the top C. The shocking top B didn't leave Spoletta nor the audiece cold. Here was somehting I had never heard singing before so impressively: Her dark, uncanny, completely unfeminine voice , as if coming from the grave, fascinates und suprises everyone - not as usual from the aria "è morto", but immediately after the mortal stab wound. Apart from the singing-technical bravura, which succeeds in creating an almost bass-coloured sound, this naturalistic colour is efficient and legitimate in Verismo.' Der Neue Merker - November 2006 'In the person of the Romanian born soprano, Anda-Louise Bogza, the Prague Compagny have at their disposal a diva commensurable with celebrated models. Her appealing stage presence, well through-out yet levely acting and beautiful characteristic voice combine in conjuring up a truly mature style. Anda-Louise Bogza's lyrical soprano has the capacity of dramatic expression, flawlessly matching her stage creation and is remarkable for its exceptionally pliant deep notes whose metallic resonance with the singer's piercingly luminous heights. Here is an interpreter capable of singing with splendid ardour, but also - as proved in this particular performance, where she salvaged the second act -with a good deal of aggressive force. Before the scene of Scarpia's murder, conceived thoroughly in line with the tradition, as a melodramatic tableau with candlesticks and crucifix, each sequence of Tosca's prayer was sung thoughout, never shouted. Indeed, this was the evening's climax, the timeless prayer of a human being in pain.' Drehpunkt Kultur - Gottfried Franz Kasparek - October 2006 'The performance of Anda-Louise Bogza in particular was first-class. The Romanian-born singer clad the the title part in gracefulness, her full-bodied and flexible soprano lending vivid expression to all the facets of her heroine; her splendidly, richly shaded redention of the aria "Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore" was followed by thoroughly deserved calls of "Bravo" '. Salzburger Volkszeitung - Florian Oberhummer - October 2006 'An above-the-average choice for the production title part was Anda-Louise Bogza. She desplayed a highly dramatic soprano, rising to a sorrowful peak in the aria "Vissi d'arta" '. Salzburger Nachrichten - Ernst Strobl - October 2006 Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg ' With her dark crackling timbre and some flattering round heights, Anda-Louise Bogza gave the title role excitedly sensual and dramatically fascinating characteristic traits.' Opernglas - February 2006 |
